Latest news about Azerbaijani political prisoners in Evin prison of Tehran

According to the statements from families of Azerbaijani political prisoners in Evin prison of Tehran, official have announced to majority of them that files of these prisoners have been completed and it is asked them to prepare pawn.
Latest news say that majority of these prisoners except Saeid Matinpour have been transmitted to the general section of the prison. Iranian inteligant services say that Saeid is the latest prisoners in this process and he has transmitted from Zanjan prison to the Evin prison for more interrogations. It is about 200 days that Mr. Saeid Matinpour is in sporadic cells of Iran prison in Zanjan and Evin. Some of freed prisoners have said that he has been tortured and scorned in prison by the interrogators, but Saeid resists against of these physical and psychic pressures with high moral.
Iranian intelligent services try to make a fake film about spying of these prisoners for US, Israel, and Turkey. Iranian official have said to Azerbaijani political prisoners that they will be freed on condition of fake admission of these charges. Mr. Abdollah Abbasi-Javan that has resisted against these pressures has been tortured severely.
From the other side Mina Asghari, Wife of Saleh Kamrani, has been threatened several times by Iranian intelligent services that she will be arrested too. According to the latest news comes from Evin prison, Iranian intelligent services try to push Mr. Metinpour to accept all responsibilities of these national movement file. Now it is time to increase human right activities to support and save Azerbaijani political prisoners, especially Mr. Saeid Metinpour .
Azerbaijani student activist in Oroumiyeh University (Akbar Pashayi) was sentenced to jail
Urmu News: (18th Azar, 9th December):
Akbar Pashayi, student of northwestern university of Oroumiyeh in the field of physics and secretary of Ustad Shehriyar community in the mentioned university has been sentenced to 1 year jail by the first branch of the Iranian revolutionary courts in Oroumiyeh (judge Darvishi). The sentence announced to him on 9th December.
At the issued sentence by judge Darvishi, his charge is propagation to support Gaip group (south Azerbaijan independence party).
Mr. Pashayi has been interrogated several times by Iranian intelligence services in charge of so called Pan-Turk activities. He has refused all of the charges against himself and against to the other students. He has clarified that this pressures by Iranian government is to block Azerbaijani Turk students activities.
2 years jail for Azerbaijani student activist in Urmu (Oroumiyeh) University

The previous sentence of Ebrahim Dehghan, Azerbaijani student activist in northwestern University of Oroumiyeh, has been approved. His first sentence was 2 years jail that it had been changed to suspended jail. After his remonstrance to the announced sentence about 1 month ago (October 2007), his sentence was approved. Ebrahim Dehghan was student activist and manager of the suspended Serial, Yashil Yol, in the Oroumiyeh University. He detained in demonstrations of May 2006. It is worthy to say that his charge was action against national security.
“Andishey-e-no” the sole publisher of Turkish books in Tehran was suspended

Today, 8th December, “Andishey-e-no”, the publisher of Turkish books, was suspended. This publisher was active for tens of years in the second floor of the Firouzeh passage located in Enghelab square in Tehran, and it was the sole Turkish books and publications reference and seller in Tehran. This publisher has shared in important services to culture of Azerbaijani Turks in Iran. The reason of this publisher suspension has not yet announced.
Saied Matinpour and Jalil Ghanilou were transmitted again to the Evin prison Saeid Matinpour and Jalil Ghanilou, two political prisoners, were transmitted from Zanjan to the 209th section of Evin prison on 4 th December.
Atiyeh Taheri, spouse of Saeid Matinpour, in interview with Savalan Sesi weblog in Zanjan alongside with this news said: In accompany with the other prisoners’ families, I referred to Dadsara to take visit right, but officials said us that Saeid Matinpour and Jalil Ghanilou have been transmitted to 209th section of Evin prison.
She added that Saeid called me on Tuesday from Evin prison and informed that he is in Evin prison.
She also informed that she has had a meeting with Akbar Alami, PM of northwestern city of Tabriz, in Zanjan.
Now it is more than 6 months that these two Azerbaijani Turk activists have been in detention and in this period they have been transmitted several times from Zanjan to 209 th section of Evin prison. They had been transmitted from Evin prison to the Iranian intelligent services office in Zanjan 2 months ago.
After 6 months detention their charge has not yet announced and their families have been under security pressures by Iranian government.
Saeid Matinpour is Human Rights activists and Jalil Ghanilou is one of cultural activists in Zanjan.
Mansour Jeddi jailed on charge of champion against language discrimination in Iran
Savalan Sasi: According to the received news from north-western city of Ardabil, Mansour Jeddi, Azerbaijani cultural activist, went to the Ardabil prison on the 1st December.
Mr. Jeddi had been detained by Iranian security forces in September 2007 in demonstration to support Turkish language learning right of Azerbaijani students in schools, and had been condemned to 4 months jail by 105th general branch of Iranian courts in Ardabil.
Mansour jeddi is emeritus staff of Ardabil medical university, wounded in Iran-Iraq war and was in bondage of Iraqi forces for 9 years.

VOA: International center of defending human rights, Front Line in Dublin, capital of Ireland, with participation of a department store has started a campaign in order to protect six human rights activists in five countries. This campaign which has started with the slogan "Defend One, Empower Thousand", has published 50 thousands postal cards, with the name and picture of six human rights activists of Iran including two identity seeking activists of Azerbaijan on them, and these cards will be signed by the customers of body shops throughout Ireland and during a ceremony will be delivered to the embassies of these countries. Society for defending political prisoners of azerbaijan has played an imprtant role in including names of two identity seeking activists of Azerbaijan among six people in campaign. Mrs. Fakhte Zamani , chief of the society for defending political prisoners of Azerbaijan, in interview with VOA has given detailed information about this campaign .
Mrs. Fakhte Zamani: From Iran two Azerbaijani activists, namely Mr. Saleh Kamerani, lawyer and human right activist, and Said Matinpoor, journalist, have been chosen. On the postal cards of these two it has been written that they are imprisoned in cell 209 of Evin prison and they are activists of Azerbaijanis^ rights in Iran. It has been pointed that intelligence authorities have arrested Saleh Kamerani on August 18 th and after detention he has had just a short phone call on August 21st and since then he was prohibited from visiting anybody and until two weeks ago he has not had any contact with his family. Since May 25 th it is about six months that Mr. Said Matinpoor has not met his wife even once and in last weeks phone contacts with him have been cut. He has been transferred from Evin prison to detention house of Zanjan.
VOA: Which characteristics have been effective in including Saleh Kamerani and Said Matinpoor in the campaign list?
Mrs. Fakhte Zamani: Mr. Said Matinpoor has written many articles in defense of Azerbaijani prisoners which have been welcomed very much, Mr. Saleh Kamerani not only has defended Azerbaijani activists but also other minorities^ prisoners. Also not only these two but also other Azerbaijani activists in Iran are against use of violence and this is one of the points that many of human rights organizations welcome. These two human rights activists are kept in Evin prison which is one the intolerable prisons for political prisoners in the world. According to the reports of recently freed prisoners, Mr. Said Matinpoor severely has been tortured physically. Even now they do not know what their accusation is, they do not have access to lawyer and they were chosen for campaign it was for months that they were not allowed even to make a phone call. On the other hand, society for defending political prisoners of Azerbaijan in Iran and other Azerbaijani human rights defenders have reported hundreds of the cases of human rights violations in Iran and southern Azerbaijan like detentions, summons, courts, imprisonments and issuing orders to political, social and civil activists, journalists to international bodies. Following this, international bodies saw that in the presence of such pressures and tortures on Azerbaijani activists and other minorities in Iran, fewer reports and news will be published and now united nations, amnesty international and human rights organizations are sensitive to the prevalent violation of Azerbaijani activists rights and other minorities and seriously follow all of these illegal cases and detentions.(oyrenci)
Parviz Soltani, student of Orumiyeh University, was condemned to 5 months jail
Oyrenci News:Parviz Soltani (Araz), second year student of Orumiyeh University in the field of agricultural machines, is originally from northwestern city of Shabestar and he had been detained by Iranian intelligent services for 2 weeks on May 2007 in anniversary of Azerbaijanis demonstration of May 2006.
He condemned to 5 months jail by Orumiyeh revolutionary court, but it is wondering to know that Iranian intelligent services in a report to judge had declared that this activist has not had any illegal activity and his detention was just to prevent him from supposed actions in the future that he maybe committed.
Imprisoning two Azerbaijan national movement activists in Maki
oyrenci:According to Urmu News correspondent in Maki, two national activists have been imprisoned.
Mohsen Hosein-zadeh (Demirchi) and Tayyeb Ebrahim-zadeh, Azerbaijan national movement activists, that attended in the 23rd, October(beginning day of schools) protests (in order to protest against banning of Turkish language teaching in schools), got detained by security forces in Maki and after a few days detention got freed. These activists have been condemned to six months prison by Islamic revolution court and have been transferred to Maki prison since ten days ago.
Dr. Mohammad Ali Heydari is released
oyrenci:Regarding Guneysesi, Dr. Heydari from Marand city is lecturer in Tehran University and also is the editor in chief of Duzgun magazine. He is also chairman of Azerbaijani student publications committee.
Acording to the recieved news from Tehran, his home was detected after released and some items been taken by officers. Also a member of Heydari family was gone missing afterward who was then told been arrested by Iranian intelligent services.
Dr. Heydari was threatened several times by Ettelaat (Iranian intelligent services) and Security forces inside university regarding his activities.
Interview of “Savalan Sesi” with Mrs. Fakhte Zamani, answerable of defense society for Azerbaijani political prisoners in Iran (ADAP)
Author: Savalan SesiFront Line, the International Foundation for the Protection of Human Rights Defenders, together with The Body Shop Ireland, launches action campaign “ Protect One, Empower a Thousand” to end the harassment of human rights defenders. On Monday 19 November at 1 pm at The Body Shop on Grafton Street, Front Line and The Body Shop launch their joint national campaign to secure the protection of human rights defenders.
Saleh Kamrani and Sa^id Metinpour, Iran Lawyer Saleh Kamrani and journalist Sa^id Metinpour are currently being detained in section 209, Evin Prison, Tehran. Both Saleh Kamrani and Sa^id Metinpour have been active in defending the rights of the Azerbaijani minority in Iran. On 18 August 2007 Saleh Kamrani was arrested and his computer and personal documents were confiscated. Since 21 August 2007 he has had no contact with his family or lawyer. Saeid Metinpour was arrested in the northwestern city of Zenjan on 25 May 2007. Since his arrest he has been subject to torture and ill-treatment. Neither Saleh Kamrani nor Saeid Metinpour have been charged, brought to trial or given access to a lawyer.
Undoubtedly, these are due to continued indefatigable attempts of Azerbaijani human rights activists inside and outside of Iran. These attempts send a message of existence of a firm and famous organization with the aim of defending South Azerbaijan people rights in a close future in the international human rights organizations.
We have arranged an interview with Mrs. Fakhte Zamani, head of defense society for Azerbaijani political prisoners association. She is one of active humanitarian activists related to South Azerbaijan prisoners and continuously reports the human rights condition in Soth Azerbaijan.
Savalan sesi: Mrs. Zamani, a campaign in Ireland is started today which the main will is to end persecuting humanitarian activists all over the world. Please describe who the starters of the campaign were and who have supported it?
Fakhte Zamani: international center to defend human rights activists (Front Line), has established Campaign cooperating international store of Body Shop. A remarkable number of human rights have encouraged this Campaign, all over the world.
Savalansesi: As a human right activist, how do you find effects of these actions?
Fakhte Zamani: certainly, news and reports related to this Campaign, will be spread through the media, consequently Azerbaijani nation’s requests will be issued in a worldwide level.
Savalansesi: How is your viewpoint about responsibility of Iranian judicial system when appose by public opinion?
Fakhte Zamani: I think governments and states have to pay attention to public opinion all over the world. However, accountabilities are different. We are not familiarized to hear obvious responses, expressed by the authorities about their actions. The Iranian authorities were obliged to answer these controversies.
She says:
United Nations, human rights organizations, Amnesty International and other related organizations condemn violations of Azerbaijani activists’ rights and pursue all Azerbaijani activists, whom were detained, seriously. So human rights activists, journalists and relatives of detainees should dispatch news accurately and immediately.(Oyrenci)
